Some shareholders should have wanted to introduce a takeover defense into a company.
In a case that a proposal in question was passed as a result of a count, the takeover defense must be introduced.
Generally speaking, a proposal for a purpose of introducing a takeover defense into a company is very similar to
what you call a "vote of thanks" at an assembly both (1) in that voters confirm their intention and declare their opinion
and (2) in that a vote to such a proposal is not prescribed in the basis laws such as the Diet Act and the Companies Act,
but, once proposals are brought up to a meeting of shareholders officially, there exist no "sinkable proposals."

買収防衛策を会社に導入することを望んでいた株主もいたはずです。
集計の結果件の議案が可決していた場合は、買収防衛策を導入しなければならないのです。
一般的なことを言えば、買収防衛策を会社に導入するための議案というのは、�@投票者達は自分達の意思を確認し意見を表明する
という点においてもそして�Aそのような議案への投票は国会法や会社法のような根拠法に規定されていないという点においても、
議会におけるいわゆる"vote of thanks"（「感謝決議」）に非常によく似ているのですが、
一旦議案を株主総会へ正式に上程したならば「取り下げてよい議案」というのは一議案もないのです。
